Located in the Oak Creek Wildlife Area west of Naches, Washington the Elk and Bighorn Sheep Feeding Stations were established in 1939 to provide winter pasture and supplemental feed for wildlife in the Tieton, Naches and Wenas Creek valleys. Approximately 20 miles west of Yakima, the wildlife area is supported by funding from sportsmen and is home to permanent populations of fish, elk, deer, bears, fowl, and other species.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
The best months to observe winter feedings of the elk population are January and February, and daily winter feeding takes place at 1:30 PM at the Oak Creek Headquarters and also at the Cleman Mountain Bighorn Sheep Feeding Site. Discover Passes are required for viewings, and visitors interested in truck tours out among the wildlife should call ahead for reservations.
