Boulder Cave

Take the easy 1.5 mile walk through a stand of trees before reaching Boulder Cave, a unique stone tunnel. This fascinating geologic formation was created by thousands of years of erosion by nearby Devil's' Creek. Bring your jacket and a flashlight to explore the cave. Each year from November 1st to April 1st the cave is closed to protect the Townsend's bats which nest in the cave during the winter months. For a look at the area topography, take the 3/4-mile River Trail interpretive loop, a paved accessible trail leading along the Naches River. Find the trailhead one and a half miles off Chinook Pass on the Old River Road. Notice the sno-park area just off Highway 410 for winter sports.
